Jane Matthews writes: My grandfather, William B. Bradshaw was from Simpson County Kentucky, a descendant of the Huguenots on the James River in Virginia. He met my grandmother, Mannie Willis Davis, when he built the two story Queen Anne house for her parents. Here they are with my Aunt Modena Bradshaw (Nelson). She was born prematurely and weighed a little over a pound when grandmother fell on the ice returning from Christmas Eve services in Seguin Texas. Modena was an english teacher who married James Emmett Nelson. She was thirteen years older than my mother, and taught mother in the school house in Dayton Texas. Their second child was Joe Davis Bradshaw. A daughter , Enola, died of diptheria at seven. My mother was the last child, Alice Bradshaw (Rogers).
