Jane Matthews writes: She was remarkable. She was an editor for the Houston Chronicle after building the engraving company she and Dad had. When they divorced , she became part of the Houston Ad Club writing their news publication "Ad VEnts " for fifty years. She became an inhouse editor for the Houston Club magazine "The Clubber" for over twenty years. When she retired, the Houston Fedration for Advertising set aside $150,000 in her name for students majoring in communications. It is called "The Alice B. Rogers Scholarship". All these years, we three girls saw her as a mother who was at every piano recital, concert, swim match, dance recital, scout meeting and party we had. We were not aware of her achievements until we were grown. Which tells you what sort of person she was.
